What players would make you comfortable waiting on a pass rusher?

Martin is going to need a year in a S+C program in the NFL before he's ready to a productive run blocker in our scheme. Not saying he couldn't play as a rookie, but he would probably get mauled more often than people think. And he needs work in pass protection. Better upside/endgame than Clary? Almost certainly. BPA at 18? I don't think so. But hey, maybe the Chargers will.

Taking Martin at 18 would simply be settling.

I can just about assure you guys that won't be the case.

AGAIN, look back at the last 5 games when Gaither stepped in. Gaither, Green, Hardwick, Vasquez, and Clary combine for only 1 sack and 24 actually had some room to run.

This was all against:
Jags
Bills
Ravens
Lions
Raiders

I'd say 4 of those 5 teams have DAMN good D lines. Even the Jags have a couple guys that can get after it.

I'd only take DeCastro becaues I feel he will be a 10+ year starter and can change the dynamics of the o line. Martin, wouldnt.

Pretty good logic in your post, tho I still think Martin or Reiff brings more to the table than Clary, and provides an upgrade to RT...Or even moving Gaither to RT, and drafting one of these guys at LT...

I say: if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

I agree we need some depth, but i'd look in the 3-5 for that.
