This is a mock-draft GAME played by “PROFESSIONAL DRAFNIK” sports writers with their respected 2012 mock drafts, giving POINTS to where you projected players/team to PICK NUMBER and what number that player actually was drafted (with NO baring of trades). So we can TOTAL up any mock draft, based on these given points to grade your predictions.
Here is the LINK and the rules: http://backupquarterbackblog.blogspo...r-king-is.html Quote:
Using their “rules” my score was 130! 35 points higher than Peter King (not that he’s extra NFL Draft Savvy. So, I’m feeling pretty good about myself (which could have been 10 points HIGHER if I didn’t change my mind at the last second and move Tannehill later in the mock)…

This just seems a little silly to me.
1. I'm more interested in what you have to say about a player as opposed to where you think he will be selected. There are plenty of people on the CMB who have no clue how to evaluate players, but might look at Mick Mayock's draft board and get the pick "right". For example: guys like Greg Cossell have far more interesting things to say about players (by about 100 fold) than Charley Casserly. Yet Greg may have received lower points because he had some unconventional picks in the 1st. 2. It looks like this only works if you do a 1st round all team mock. Not very many people on here have done that.

I based my mock draft on my own personal insight/experiance, the way I intreprete prospect tape, as well as TEAM NEED. Those other guys you mention specialize their mocks their own way too... There were SO many trades in the 1st round it was crazy. But I still guessed pretty well, (based on a point score system as above).

1. Melvin Ingram gives you 9 points despite being taken 11 spots later? 2. Cordy Glenn gives you 2 points despite not being taken in the 1st at all? 3. Upshaw gives you 6 points despite going in the 2nd round? 4. Barron gives you a point despite going 12 picks earlier? Also, I wouldn't give anybody any points for getting the first 2 picks right. Those were no-brainers.

So in your mock draft you predicted that Cleveland and Minnesota would flip flop before they drafted Richardson and Kalil respectively?
I think you have your answer for why this thread was dead in the water from the beginning.

If you recall, that CLE/MIN trade was completed before the draft started. So I adjusted my mock draft accordingly BEFORE THE DRAFT STARTED. Once Cleveland made that trade, I mocked Richardson to CLE... YES.

How could you possibly get any points for Floyd? Or Zeitler?
