Come on man. it wasn't trickery. I admit when I saw the play last night that was what I thought at first. But once I realized the play broke down, and rivers had to roll out more it made more sense. Liike i said in my earlier post Battle probably would of made the TD. But the bolts felt PA was the better choice assuming KC was thinking run with Battle in. Rivers turned that play into garbage. Along with whoever missed their block.
Well look, Norv wasn't fooling anyone. Isn't that the play where he huddled on the sideline with PR before the play? (Wasn't there a tv timeout there or something after Brown carried to the 1 yd line?) Crennel may be a bad HC, but he's not stupid. Norv wasn't spending time discussing the nuances of a run up the gut.
Also, before the snap, the left side backer for the Chiefs was waving his players over to the side of the play. They knew exactly what was happening, which is why the play was covered.
In any event, I don't really care whether they fooled the Chiefs or not.
The point is, why do you need to even go there? You've got the FB you wanted, you've got the RB you wanted, you have everything you need to run right at them. Stop over thinking and just play football. That was a wonderful moment to make a point. It was all so lost on Norv.
