Norv wasn't spending time discussing the nuances of a run up the gut.

Also, before the snap, the left side backer for the Chiefs was waving his players over to the side of the play. They knew exactly what was happening, which is why the play was covered.

In any event, I don't really care whether they fooled the Chiefs or not. The point is, why do you need to even go there? You've got the FB you wanted, you've got the RB you wanted, you have everything you need to run right at them. Stop over thinking and just play football. That was a wonderful moment to make a point. It was all so lost on Norv.

I am on board with the whole post except the bolded. Over thinking? Yes. Lost? no. In fact if KC read it and were adjusting, then Rivers didn't make the read and it falls on his shooulders again.

Pre-snap we're discussing "what do you do, pass or run?". Usual stuff. I vote run, then I see KC load up...dang, hope he called a PA. THEN I see our personnel...Rosario, McMichael, Molk, Battle....oh yeah, run all the way.

So once I saw PA I was happy, and thoroughly fooled...just KC played it, that's all. I would love to replay it, see if McMichael popped earlier, idk.

No matter, if Rivers throws it into the bleachers as he should have, it's all a moot point.

Oh, and chess has tons of sneakery, what you talkin' 'bout MB?
One of the downsides of not being at the game and only seeing a small picture of what's going on. KC knew what was coming and had the play covered. (Did they even defend the run by Battle? Looked like he went into the endzone with little resistance.) I don't care about that though. Coming from a guy who posted that he'd be running 30 times per game, pretty sure there would have been little guesswork or doubt as to your call in that situation or for that matter the result. It was a "Billy Jack" moment: We're gonna take this ball and shove it down your throat and there ain't a d^%& thing you can do about it. All of that so, so lost on Norv.

Well, again, it's been pointed out that you're "Totally Bolted," whereas I'm only "ReadyToBolt," so I guess you win. Ha-ha. I gotta bolt now, so take care.

They sure belong on the the list, but just the greatest ever not to me.
Brady and Manning are among the best in the history of football. Let's not split hairs.

Expectations, yes. Using Brady and Manning as benchmarks, no. I agree that PR has underperformed, and badly, but let's be reasonable in our expectations.
