How about we outscore our opponents and then the speeches are irrelevant. Oh, wait...that's right. 4th quarter this Sunday, someone will miss a tackle and be thinking, "if only Norv had given a better speech last Thursday".

Ross and Coryell teams performed on the field so there wasn't the same searching for reasons with what's wrong with the team and both were accomplished coaches in college and pros.

Norv doesn't have the resume and the teams seem to perform in a lackluster fashion until their backs are against the wall. Hence people are looking for the reason.

99% of the "motivating" we can't and won't see. Now, I'm not saying Norv is a good motivator. What I am saying is watching his post-game speech won't give us the answer.

you can't see wind but you can see the leaves blow. the thing speaks for itself. that post-game speech -- while in and of itself isn't that meaningful -- is a pretty consistent sample of Snorv-speak

I find that difficult to believe.

He may not be pushing the right buttons, but I can't believe it's his speech pattern.

If that's the case, solution is easy: hire an actor.

Al Pacino is the obvious choice, but I think if Spanos is strapped for cash we can get by with Paul Giamatti.

To you maybe, but what about the players. Fact. Many have said Norv is a good motivator to them. We just saw 1 video. Not every single game. Thursdays game was a win. It stopped the losing streak. Can it be a way of building momentum to the playoffs. I hope so.

The speech is weak. Most of the guys you see are staffers, NOT players. The players you do see aren't interested. Listen to the background noise, zippers & everything else. Look at Garay paying attention to something else. In contrast, look at Chuck Pagano's speech.....all the players gathered around him tightly. This just confirms my suspicions that the team really doesn't care what he's saying....which is mostly trite cliches. Ho hum....I hope we show up against Tampa Bay. I'm worried.

I do not believe so but I also do not understand why the team felt the need to release the video. Is it because they want us to see what Norv is like with his players? If so, the video they chose was a fail.

I wish they had the speech Norv gave a couple years back when we were getting blown out at halftime. I cannot remember the game, but we came back to win the game and Gates was quoted as saying it was because of Norv's halftime speech
