Swimming is one thing i'd like to be a lot better at, athletically. I think i'd enjoy swimming laps more than running laps.
I'm about 30 mins by public transport from the beach. 15 minute drive. There's a pool just a 10 minute walk away though. Got renovated for a few years. Pretty nice now. Used to be really crappy.
Do not worry about it. Just go to swim and chill. Maybe easier said than done but you will get it after a while. try going swimming after a work out, that may help. I would go to the beach to develop your swimming style. Go under water and hold your breath to be more comfortable with sinking. Try swimming half the length of the pool under water. Swimming has a lot of innate motivation that can bring out the swimmer in us.
