He had all dayum day and still threw the ball to a linebacker, standing directly in front of him, wearing bright orange.
Please.

I agree that Whitehurst is not the long term replacement, but we can't continue having Rivers think that its OK to turn the ball over the way he has. I'm tired of the excuse of "I shouldn't have thrown that pass" that he has used the past couple weeks. I believe using Whitehurst as proving a point to the ENTIRE team. Plus nobody has addressed the fact that if our O-line sucks, then put in a more mobile QB. That INT today against the Donks was not an O-line problem, that was on Rivers.

i think rivers needs to be benched because I'd like to see what we look like with whitehurst but at the same time I know we arent going anywhere so I would like the highest draft choice as possible and Rivers gives us the best opportunity to get everything done that we need to get done.
And right now Alexander is our best offensive weapon clearly

The only reason to bench rivers would be when we are statistically eliminated from the playoffs and so we can save wear tear on him for next year when the chargers actually do realize we need to improve the oline.

i completely agree with this post
we HAVE to becnh rivers, i dont have any confidence in him anymore, he is useless, doesnt move a bit and when he moves he throws terrible passes and i believe whitehurst can do a better job right now with that line because he at least can move

I also call bull on you laughing your butt off with rivers across from you. If you played with type of attitude you wouldn't be playing because you be getting beat worse than Cason vs Julio Jones and your coach would be having your head for punching bag. I'll stand by my opinion. Talk to AJ about that one.

I think that playing Rivers is throwing in the towel. We need to see if A): a benching gets his head right; or B) if Whitehurst can get the job done.

Are any of you folks that think that no matter what Rivers does, or how many times he turns the ball over, he must not, and I mean absolutely MUST not, be benched ---- watching the Bears / 49ers tonight?
Kaepernick -- a back up quarterback -- has been pressured by the Bears repeatedly, and yet is still escaping, dumping balls OB, or hitting targets while on the run. Yes, imagine that -- a backup QB, under a ton of pressure, destroying the best (or second best) defense in the NFL. Several of you appear to think that it is "inconceivable" that this could happen -- but it is not:

Though, I figured we would pile on Bull apon Bull till we couldn't stand the pile. Then again. the Chargers have pretty much piled it up pretty high already. BTW: Don't get me wrong. He did throw in the towel. I just agree with him doing it in that instance. But I don't agree with throwing in the towel for Whitehurst. I will say this though. If they did and he won, I would have double helping of crow.
