Do it now, AJ has no purpose until the off season. We can get the jump on Cowher, Gruden, Billick, or (insert name here) of coaches that are out of the game currently. If we made an A+ hire like Cowher he's going to want some input on who the GM will be. We can offer him a clean slate, and AJ will have to be gone for most quality coaches to consider this job. Head Coaches are control freaks by nature, they don't want to work for a dominating boss like AJ. Hence AJ hired a yes man in Norv.
If AJ is retained he'll bring in another talented coordinator that will do a good job with one side of the ball, but will not have the skills to manage the team the way a true leader has to. |

i still cannot believe he wasn't put out of his misery after cleveland. forget scoring 6 on one of the worst defenses in the league. this was AFTER A BYE. if in 12 days that was the best norv turner could come up with against a perennial bottom-feeder, he sealed his fate that night. i don't really care much what else happens this season. i want us to win the super bowl, but more realistically, i want us to end the norv turner experiment as HC here.

Why would you throw in the towel on the season before you were mathatically eliminated? No need for it. I have not seen a single head coach lose his job this year yet.

Because they show no sign of improvement. At best they are maintaining the status-quo. Most of the time they show regression (Rivers' pass to the wrong player at TB, for instance). The defense has scored 6 of their 26 TDs, so far.

The players we have now don't fit the system anyway, besides this system isn't working. Change isn't a bad thing, if the players are good they'll pick up a new system relatively quickly. It's silly to say "let's keep doing the same thing" when it hasn't gotten us anywhere, fear of change is not a reason to avoid it.
