What do you think of the truck driving schools? I had a commercial licence back in the 80's... Is there that much work?

I didn't go to a truck driving school, but seeing some of their "graduates" ... I don't think much of them.

Over the road driving sucks. Only real money in trucking is specialty stuff like what I do .... unless you hooked on with some local place that would hire without much (any) experience. You'd have to know someone. We don't hire without at least 3 years experience with a CDL and over a year of flatbed. Then, the n00bs don't get the high dollar loads for at least a year.

Yep...That's how I ended up in retail no money in it after I got my CDL in high school.... I was thinking about getting back into the propane delivery end of things.... I only need to get to Oct. 2015 then I can take out my two retirements!

Gaither to IR. Whoopee!! We all wanted him signed, but that sure backfired.

Spent a good deal of the day playing with an old adult sized go kart for the dirt. That has been sitting down at my folk's barn for the last 12-15 years.


Had already taken the seat off there- it's gonna need a new seat, plus I wanted to take a look at the channels for the brake/gas. Gonna need new rubber all the way around and I have no idea where to start on the engine. It's not frozen, which I suppose is a good thing. Will do what I can with it (change oil, carb cleaner, gas it up, new spark plug) and see if it goes. Gotta find a chain, etc for it and the old disc brake in the back is kinda scary looking. LOL.



Some of you guys in here are good with this stuff- lemme know if you have any tips/recommendations/warnings based on what you see.

BTW- that skinny little tire on the front was bolted to the front as a spare. There is a decent 6x4.5 rim with a flat tire not shown in the picture. Missing on the other side.
