You didn't hear the outcry from Dallas fans when Emmitt was let go that you heard in SD on LT. The Pats have let loads of people go unceremoniously through the years, from Teddy B., to probably Welker this coming year. It's "family" while you're on the team. After that, you're the enemy unless you retire.
I don't know how many fans you were talking to but I know at least one former Cowboy fan who hates them since they dropped Emmitt. I don't know that many Cowboy fans so I can't say that this was representative of the the sample but I wouldn't say there wasn't an outcry.

Also with the Pats even this week Bill Simmons was whining about the Pats not paying Vinateri.

Interesting fact for the day: Malcolm Floyd, Antonio Gates, Robert Meachem, Philip Rivers, Donario Alexander, Curtis Brinkley, Eddie Royal, Tyronne Green, Nick Hardwick, and Louis Vasquez all have more tackles than Larry English this year.

Pats would gave cut this guy already to free up a spot for a guy who could contribute

Pats would have traded him to the Raiders for a 1st rounder.

Maybe, but I find Charger fans are more emotional and with less football IQ. They are fans of players not the team, so that leads to the outcry for a player over what's best for the team.

This thread should be locked, really.

English couldn't be more irrelevant to the Chargers team right now.

Agreed, but have you seen 95% of the threads and their relevance?

I mean, c'mon, right?

San Diego has 1 iconic player every 10 years or so that the city falls in love with and their respective team makes them the face of the franchise, it's not the player or the fans fault that we don't have a winning tradition loaded with star players.
