Shut Down Rivers w/ 2-3 weeks to go in the season

I'm actually hoping they do it.
It's not because of his play, but im concerned for his mental and physical health more than anything.

Also, it would give Whitehurst one more shot to show that he's got NFL starting material and could be worth something in trade value that could help us fill a hole for next year.

That won't happen with Norv as HC. He needs to try and get the wins so that he can polish up his resume.

Who cares what Phillip wants?

He has already shown questionable decision skills with his endorsement of Norv and his numerous BAD interceptions.

All the better to drive a wedge in their relationship so it'll be easier to let go of Norv (from Rivers' perspective)

Realistically I know it wont happen. But c'mon if the friggin National (dumb as they were) had the balls to shut down Strasburg (in a pennant race!) why cant we do the same to preserve our franchise QB, the final games wont mean anything, and I dont want a repeat of the finale of 2005 season.

I can’t believe that anyone on the team (even Rivers) will be lobbying for Norv this year. I think that Rivers did it last year because he accepted the blame for not making the playoffs (take back one fumbled snap). As bad as he as played this year, their failures this year have gone way beyond Rivers. Everyone on the team should be able to see the writing on the wall. Changes are needed. There was no bounce back this year.

I agree, from Rivers body language and from the way he was sitting on the sidelines on one knee last game just shows me he knows the team needs change. He looks like a guy who has accepted reality about Norv. Even look at Rivers in post game interviews. His interviews are so different than before. Rivers lobbied for Norv out of guilt imo for his terrible play.

Sorry guys, but I don't see Rivers getting benched.

Maybe if we had a future franchise QB sitting behind him. Maybe.

But not with Whitehurst shining pine and holding the clipboard.

Norv is going to go with his starters the rest of the way. I'm pretty sure that every man on that team wants to win the rest of the way.

Talk about players giving up, quitting, hating Norv, and all that other stuff is just fans projecting their own feelings onto other people.
