Honestly, Rivers right now reminds me of Favre in the late 90's to the early 2000's. People always say Favre became more reckless after Holmgren left, but the truth of the matter is the talent level on those Packer teams started to decline by that time period. It no shocker that Favre had a resurgent year in 2007 due to the fact the Packers talent level picked up. |

We'll probably eek out a win or two, and that would probably put us in a good spot to draft Lewan. Then early 2nd round there's likely to be a good number of RTs available. I know we could use another pass rusher, but I'd be thrilled if we got OTs with both of our top picks (especially if we lucked out with Aboushi falling to us).
But here's a hypothetical I'm curious about. Let's say we've got the #10 pick and both Lewan and Mingo are available. I don't know if I can pass on Mingo there. I might just have to roll the dice on Gaither waking up. |

He really looks to have an astronomical ceiling. But probably too much of a boom or bust guy. How do you feel about drafting OTs with our first two picks? That would probably leave us no choice but to go with the same group of OLBs.

I'm not in favor of it. I think we have too many other issues to double dip at OT that high. I'd rather draft one high, let him take over RT and be our backup LT as a rookie, and sign a FA for depth. Gaither is not durable, but he's cheap when healthy so I'd like to keep him on the left.

Yes and no. I would rather sign a veteran like Dunlap as the backup for our rookie OT, with the rook (Joeckel, Lewan, Fisher, Aboushi, etc) being the backup for Gaither. Heck I'd even keep Clary at a reduced salary as our backup RT over Harris.

Barr's measureables will make him highly coveted. Aldon Smith had only one year where he was a real productive player, as a freshman where he had 11 sacks. He only had 4.5 the next year, which is why many thought he'd go back. I also think Barr will test better at the combine.

I don't want to dump Harris per say, as I don't think he's been given a fair shake to develop.

Don't want to dump Harris, but don't want to count on him either. Gaither, a rookie, and a veteran would play ahead of him if I had my way but that doesn't mean he couldn't be on the roster.
