We can blame Norv and AJ all we want, but ultimately, its Spanos who is at fault here. Its unbelievable to me that he's just sat on his hand doing nothing (while collecting money with the other hand), and let AJ and Norv reduce this team to a joke. We're literally no better than the Browns(which we lost to). Our only wins have come against teams that have a combined record of 9-27. And that's the bright side among the blown 24 point half time lead, and the blown 4th & 29. The last 6 years(Norv) have been such a waste. You got to wonder what's going on through the players minds. Because I'm sure some have thought about how they are wasting their careers with this franchise. And don't kid yourself if you think that's a stretch. The Mannings knew BEFORE Eli even got here, you think the players that ARE HERE haven't thought about it?

In the past two offseasons he has signed Clary,Hardwick and Gaither. That's not ignoring.

Clary isn't good, Hardwick is declining, but still serviceable. And Gaither is great.....but unreliable.

AJ's biggest mistake was not finding a true backup plan to Gaither giving his injury history.

And thinking that Green could replace Dielman. Though to be fair to Green he earned a chance, AJ should have had a back up in place though, Hadnot sucks.

Yeah, Green was serviceable down the stretch last year, so I understand why AJ rolled the dice with him instead of picking up a guy like Decastro.

Updating this...

2007 Norv year 1: Capitalizes off previous team and goes to AFC Championship game (the beginning of the "slow start" era. 1-3 by week 4)
2008 Norv year 2: Won 1 playoff game (finished 8-8, by the way, after a 4-8 "slow start.")
2009 Norv year 3: Didn't even win 1 playoff game (2-3 "slow start" again, 6 weeks in.)
2010 Norv year 4: Missed playoffs entirely (2-5 "slow start" again up to week 7)
2011 Norv year 5: Went 4-7 to start and finished 8-8, NO playoffs...AGAIN
2012 Norv year 6: AGAIN, we’re sitting at 4-8...

FIRE NORV!!!

Helps to see it listed out like that doesn't it?

What you don't see if the myriad issues that plagued the team since he came on. One year it was special teams, the year before that it was defense, then there was Rivers's decline.... All symptoms of the same disease: Norv Turner.

It's been a near-tangible decline in all aspect of the club, from performance againstt Division rivals to playoff appearances.

Playoff appearances
2007 - AFC Championship appearance
2008 - 1 playoff win
2009 - Playoff berth, but no win
2010 - No playoff appearance
2011 - No playoff appearance
2012 - NO CHANCE at all (not even Wild Card)

I said virtually ignored it. He did the minimum he had to do, imo. Turns out it wasn't good enough, imo.
