19-5-1 in the last 2 season (3rd best in NFL). WTH is going on in San Francisco and what happens with Alex at the end of the season? Some team is about to come up.

I'd trade Whitehurst, and take Smith in a second.

With our emerging defense, I'd give Smith a try for sure.

I like Smith. Kaepernick definitely should have got the job earlier. I knew it was a matter of time til this happened

I agree. Get Smith. Although I think the Jets or some team like that will go after him.

Smith is textbook example of why watching the games sometimes is better then looking at stats.
He is a limited passer and rarely pulls the trigger on throws. Harbaugh knows this and that is the reason why Kap replaced him, he expands the passing game and is more willing to make tougher throws. |

Rivers and Smith aren't even comparable in terms of arm talent. I would much rather have the guy who can make stick throws into tight windows then the guy who won't. |

Perhaps he'll give us a hometown discount?
I remember when it looked like he was on the way out in SF, I was pretty sure he'd end up here riding pine. Funny how things work out.
