I knew "throwing a wrench into the gears" had it right? No, no, no, that would never do. Not in the context I meant. A Luddite would hate the idea of a worldwide web with every fiber of his being. They were anti-modernity and consequently would have never trusted in spell check. Trusting technology cost me a (minor) typo, damn it. If the Luddites had carried the day, I'd be wasting time with a plume instead of a keyboard and would surely have checked my parchment for errors before attaching it to a pigeon and sending it back to the freak's small farm across the vale. After he was done handcrafting his latest piece of wooden furniture or hoeing his beets (don't you dare switch that around!), he would have responded. Or not.
