yeah, in essence Dean just said Norv is finishing the season as coach

I seem to recall a similar article last year, perhaps by Acee, and we all know that it never happened as written. My recollection is that the previous story also referenced a source citing intimate knowledge of working with Dean and said Norv was done.

Back to today...I do believe Norv will be gone. AJ might stay, but I think less than 20% he stays (my guess, nothing more). But, regardless my take on this is 'too little, too late'. I have traveled for years from LA to San Diego for games...I've been a fan since the 70's. I'm still a fan, but he lost my season ticket business when it became evident that we were spiraling this year. His decision to retain Norv was awful, and everyone knew it. Mr Spanos, while a nice guy, lacks vision. He can fire Norv and bring in AJ. I'm not renewing. I've already stopped going to games....having to donate tickets to charity to get something out of them....Lord knows I can't sell them.

Acee's response to Spanos' denial

Quote:
It seems anyone can say anything these days, and someone will believe it.

But if you believe Dean Spanos has not made up his mind about what to do with Norv Turner and A.J. Smith, I have a bridge and an NFL team to sell you.

That’s just absurd.

In fact, if that is what you believe, you should be deeply concerned and hope that someone else immediately takes over control of the Chargers.

If Spanos were truly going to wait until Dec. 31, the day after the season finale, and begin to “evaluate” the state of his team and what to do about it, he certainly doesn’t belong in charge.

Spanos saying that he hasn't told anyone his thoughts or his decision yet just means that he's not going to say they're gone right now. But the odds of Norv staying are about the same as Norv's chances of winning a SB here. If Spanos was serious about keeping them around he'd probably word his response differently.
