Trade Rivers for couple of nice picks, Jay Cutler style.

Pick Geno Smith and o-linemen to protect.. I would love to get an elusive QB..

Rivers trade value has been shrinking at break neck pace the past couple years. What team would want him? He is locker room poison.
Watch him during a game on the sidelines...the only communication he has with his offense is yelling and hand waving. They don't study or plan for the next set of downs. He stands...by himself...and watches. Nobody wants to talk with him and when he finally gets traded or cut we'll here the same thing from the players that we did when we finally got rid of Cromartie...that he was a poison to the team. He has no leadership skills.
So, yeah, let's do beef up the O line but the Chargers need a young(er) franchise QB to lead us into this 'New Era of Charger Football'.
Are you with us Dean?

Some of you act like franchise QB's grow on trees. There is no QB in the draft that is going to be as good as Rivers and besides good luck getting a good coach to come here when you have no QB on the roster. The only reason SD is going to be one of the premier openings is due to the fact Rivers is on the roster.

The game-plan is really simply, rebuild the talent base around Rivers and if he is still underperforming then you go and get a QB.

I just watched the Sound FX career of Drew Brees, watching this guy in the locker room and on the sideline he is a true leader. Just makes me wonder how this team would have been with him leading these group of guys. I always see Rivers joking around or solo on the sideline, who knows if he even does locker room speeches, but his time is done time to draft or get a QB that will lead this team and do it seriously and not smile in every press conf.

Yes, because being a rah-rah guy translates to success on the field..............

Dude, are you really trying to be sarcastic when his example was Brees? You do know he has had success on the field, right?

I know Brees is successful and has nothing to do what he does in a pre-game huddle.

Pre-game; sidelines; huddles. QB's can absolutely shape their teams and show leaderships in these situations. The sound fx on Jerry Rice focused a LOT on this aspect of his command. And you know about P.Manning on the sidelines -- constantly going over the plays and the pictures -- alone sometimes, and often with his receivers. (Not all rah-rah guys -- but I don't think the original point was the rah-rah aspect, but the leadership. Whatever style you have).

I'm thinking more like Palmer style. Lots of high drat picks.
