True enough and he is definitely going to get paid. Truth be told I like your idea of drafting a stud to play on the right side and swing over if\when Gaither goes down. That's probably going to give us the best return on the investment. The risk is that we pidgeon-hole ourselves into taking a tackle that might not be the bpa.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't advocate for that. I'm hoping that we're picking high enough for Joeckel, who tops my big board in general. But if he's gone and Lotulelei or Werner is there then I say we take one of those guys and wait on OT. And if we end up picking later, then Lewan and Fisher are in the mix.

I'm very anxious to see Fisher in the all star games to see how he looks against big school competition. From what I've seen of him, he could be as good as anyone in this draft when all is said and done. I can't explain it but I just have this gut feeling about this kid. We'll see.

We're at the point of diminishing returns at DE. That money needs to be spent at a different position.

It's a moot point anyways, because Johnson doesn't fit our scheme. He's definitely not a 5 technique and probably not an outside linebacker. We would have to move to a 4-3, which I would rather not do.

I know we can't afford Jake Long since he'll command a ridiculous contract on the open market...

but I'd still consider pulling the trigger...

If this team can shore up the Offensive Line and a playmaker on offense I think we can compete...

sign Long to play LT, then use the draft to draft a G and T pretty high....then maybe a Sproles-type in the 3 or 4th round

The problem is that casual fan perception of Long isn't reality. He's mediocre right now. He hasn't been the dominant left tackle that most think of him as since 2010.

if he isnt we can get em for a good price his father brings fans to the game also
