I don't think Jordan will ever be a star pass rusher, which is what we need. Barr can be that.

I like them both, I think from being a RB, Barr is naturally fluid when it comes to making moves. However, you can't teach the physical advantages Dion has. JPP, J.J. Watt, Chandler Jones, and Aldon Smith all have that exceptional arm reach. I think Dion's ceiling is higher because of that, but Barr's floor is higher by what he's shown (still don't know what his measures are though).
I watched both of their games vs Washington state, Barr had a phenomonal game, but Dion was destroying that LT too. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk.

I think Barr has some good arm lengths as good. Arm reach isn't everything. Barr looks to have wicked explosion. Remember, Barr hasn't played much OLB. He only just recently moved over and is already flashing greatness.

That too is very true though. For the progress he's made considering it's been his first year at olb is absolutely impressive.
I don't think you can miss with Barr, and Dion seems like a boom or bust. Either he'll be really good or the opposite. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk.

Care to elaborate JH23?
Not sure I agree physics, that Barr has an higher floor, I would say Jordan does, but I would also say that Barr has an higher ceiling. We differ there. lol

Yeah there's no way Barr is a sure thing, he's very raw

The reason why I say higher floor, is I don't see Dion Jordan do things like this at 1:04:
Also that Washington State game showed you what he can do as of right now. Even Kiper from ESPN has Barr in his top 15 prospects. |

I see a ton of explosion from Barr. Just his speed off the snap when he attacks up the field. He's also very very fluid in coverage as is Jordan. When you watch the USC game, you see just how much he plays like a slot corner, which is what Jordan does too. And the you can tell with some refining he'd be real good. My main problems are the lack of moves aside from a speed rush and an unrefined bull rush and the fact that he's just not a very good tackler and can sometimes just watch the pile rather than jump in. However, if we keep this coaching staff, I think Barry could really help when you see how our OLBs have progressed. And the fact that he is fluid in coverage means he'd get on the field. I'd love him or Ansah if we go OT first and move back up, but we'd have to move pretty high up to get them IMO.

He definitely does not have a higher floor, as Jordan is pretty decently refined while Barr has some major issues in the run game.

So as of right now, you believe Dion is the better player?
