If our next GM fills a couple positions through Free Agency, then things would obviously change, and I would have no problem with taking one of the safeties as high as the 2nd round.

Yeah, Barnes is a more efficient rusher, and SP95 can't set the edge on his side, he is a liability against the run.

Barnes is a liability against the run as well, correct? I mean.. I'd probably rather bring back Barnes too cause cheaper and younger but he isn't an edge setter at all is he?

Either one of them is a liability against the run. And Barnes is more effective as a situational pass rusher. I think SP95 is trending downward, not to mention that if he was deemed situational, his ego would flip out.

Fair enough.. I just had wondered if I had missed something. I think Barnes should be brought back over SP95 just due to youth and price. I wonder how Paul Kruger would do at ROLB. He has been excellent rushing the passing this year for the Ravens. They probably won't keep him with just drafting Upshaw and then having McClellan and Suggs still on the roster.

I think Kruger is a LOLB who is playing out of position. Most of his sacks this year have been hustle/coverage sacks.

Yeah I would only sign Kruger as a primary backup/rotational guy, and the market would have to be really soft for him for that to work out.

I still think Phillips can ball when healthy and he still sets the tone with the group and he's a smarter player but I don't think he will demand as much money as others think because of his production and injuries the past couple seasons but I do agree that Barnes is the more explosive pass rusher
