Default Nate Kaeding to the Dolphins

Per Michael Gehlken

And from their website.

The Miami Dolphins have signed kicker Nate Kaeding. The team also placed kicker Dan Carpenter on Reserve/Injured List
This is not a why didn't we keep him thread but any time a former Charger finds a home it is worthy of a thread. As much as I hate him for his critical misses... I am surprised it took him this long to land a job.

It's because of his critici misses that he couldn't find a job. Washington was interested in him but then they realized that their trying to make playoffs and couldn't afford to have a kicker missing FGs in crunch time. So far, I don't think they regret it.

Nate needs to sign with bad non playoff teams (like Miami) that way there will never be any pressure on him and he will easily make most of his FGs.

Still no excuses for this guy. He's got one job, to make FGs. And he cost us potentially three Super Bowls by not coming through for us.

Hence why they released Cundiff who is still jobless. The nfl doesn't like choke artists.

Well chances are they will be a non play-off team, But they are still in the hunt this point. I guess they are giving Miami a 1 in 50 chance. But you never know.

But I believe it starts with the head coach. We’ve seen the decision-making, we’ve seen the turnovers, we’ve seen that this team has been up 24-0 and end up losing. That’s coaching, fella, ok? That’s coaching. I’ve played on four freaking Super Bowl teams. Four Super Bowl teams! I know the difference between being well prepared and not being well prepared."

The issue with Kaeding is that he's more well known for his ability to completely collapse in critical moments than otherwise. It also probably didn't help that he's been injured quite frequently the last few seasons.

Matt Dodge was a punter for the Giants and he messed up one crucial punt in the playoffs and has been blacklisted from the NFL. Dude screwed up one punt and can't play in the nfl. When you have one job to do and you can't do it, the NFL will chew you up and spit you out.

With Chargers karma, Nate will kick a 54 yarder to knock us out of the AFCCG against Miami next year.
