There's really no clear cut #1 team. Broncos have won 10 straight though.

Not to mention they lost to the christian ponder-led vikings today. I know that defense is improved, but 6 points for this high-powered offense???? And they barely beat the horrendous jags and got help from the refs to beat the lions on thanksgiving. This team is lucky to have the number 1 seed or even the division title. Only consistent teams are denver and green bay.

No doubt, though, Seattle is playing really well right now.

But only one team can come out of the NFC, and I don't think it will be them. If the 49ers win next week (vs. Cardinals in SF), then the Seahawks are a wild card. They're a different team away from home.

Of course, the Seahawks' most recent road game resulted in a huge blowout victory.

True. Maybe their road game woes are a thing of the past. And wild-card teams have been known to win SBs.

The playoffs will be really interesting this year. Any AFC team could advance (but the AFC North reps are the least likely to make it, IMO).

And the non-Seattle NFC wildcard (Vikings/Bears/Cowboys) would probably grade out as the weakest team in the playoffs.

AFC is wide open but the 2 AFC wild card teams are pretenders. I give them no chance of getting to the Super Bowl. NFC depends on whether the falcons can actually win a playoff game. I wouldn't overlook either NFC west team but both are sporting rookie qbs.
