Rivers can’t run and yes we need a better O line, but we need someone that has the ball to be more moble. |

Mobility. That is the trend in todays quarterbacks. You're never going to get a perfect O line. Your QB has to be able to improvise. Play action...misdirection...rolling out to the left. With Rivers there are no plays to the left side...that realy makes it easy for the opposing defense....and the play book is a lot thinner.
Maybe part of Rivers problems has been leg injuries...or maybe the head injury he sustained a few years ago when he was putting up big numbers and considering himself elite. He is only elite in that he is very highly paid for the results he brings. And what about trade value? Another season like this and we will only be able to waive him and eat the remainder of his contract. Tell me what team in the leauge would be interested in him? Where would he be a good fit? Maybe where Norv goes to be OC. Do you think Norv would want him? |

A few years ago, when he considered himself ELITE, he had a decent Oline, Sproles as a 3rd down outlet option and Jackson as his #1 receiver.
Now we have no Oline, can't run a da!!, so the defense can just sit back and pick us apart. Those are the options AJ left us with and that's why he's gone! As a season ticket holder I'm was fed up with that. If we only had to run against 4 and drop back 7, we still couldn't get decent yardage. I think it was a combination of the Rb's and Oline. |

I would take that chance in a heartbeat. Then sit back and know that KC won't be challenging us for the division for a long time. . .

I'd love Norv and Rivers to go to KC...that would just help us out. Sounds like Ron Wolf believes we already have a franchise QB in Rivers and I'll guess the Spanos feel the same way. Naturally, I expect Rivers to stay but I don't expect him to be any more successful than he has been the past couple years...regardless of who ends up on the 'new' O line.

As to the stats -- why do they make you recoil like that? Don't like that they demonstrate that he has, indeed, been horrific -- and that blind allegiance has clouded your vision?
