It's not coddled. He's the most sought after coach in all of football. He's in the drivers seat and can pick and choose from available openings. So much so, that he can create the opening. Example: The Panthers would dump Rivera this morning if Cowher said he would go there.

With AJ out of the way, I was hoping that we had the perfect opening for him. So far it isn't happening. That tells me that something else is wrong, and it ain't with him either ...

Hey Freak...I see where you are going with this. You were hoping Cowher would coach here with AJ out of the picture? Myself, I never really considered him as a canidate, I guess he just doesn't seem serious enough to get back into the game.

I have no doubt he is a good coach. But I am a little disappointed if he is so fixiated on Coughlins job that he wouldn't consider anything else.

I hope Coughlin coaches NYG for another 10 years. Either that, or he comes to San Diego

He might be seeking some coddling or just putting some feelers out. I listened to a radio interview with Cowher this past week and he sounded like he likes broadcasting life and spending more time with his family. Not to mention less pressure. So I was a little surprised when this report came out that he wanted to return to coaching. I guess I shouldnt be surprised. The coin they make on the pro level is insane and hes in a position to sit back and wait for the opportunity to come to him.

As far as 'why would he wait for the Giants job?' - well the Mara family are one of the best owners out there and the organization itself has a lot of history of success even when they were counted out.

Tomlin did in two years what it took Cowher ten years to do, win a Super Bowl. When you break it down, Cowher is over-rated, IMHO.
