Well, until we upgrade the OL, good luck. Norv took all kinds of flack for forcing the run issue here. In fact, everywhere but here he's always been able to run the ball. Starts up front, and right now we don't have the bodies to implement a true power running attack, including RB.

Mathews is capable. I do honestly believe that. If not, there are guys in the draft who can be picked up in late rounds and prove huge dividends.

Talent-wise he might be "capable," but he has not proven he can stay on the field. How can you have a power running game with a RB who can't stay healthy? Fair or not, that's a fact.

Ok, let me put it this way. Luck and Kap both can escape the pocket to extend the play as well as run on plays, Rivers is the Tin Man that cannot.

Vernon Davis did nothing this year in SF, and Gates is our best Receiver with a good OL.

Luck may have developed in collage, but he set the bar high in passing as a traditional pocket passer under Arians in only one year. BTW Rivers is better than Luck.

Arians uses 2 TE set very well and i think that would work well here. And we do not have a Frank Gore type of player nor do we have a SF OL.

Im not saying Arian has to be the Guy, but we need a HC and/or OC that can make Rivers better as a traditional Pocket passer with a OK OL. Indy schemes work well with a little above average OL.

Rivers has 3 more years and we have invested in him. Let get the right coaching staff for those 3 years. If it does not work Bye Bye Rivers and we start over.

I am pretty darn sure Harbaugh had more to do with Luck, than Roman.

Roman was the TE/RB coach and assistant head coach, Shaw was the OC..

Just the past 2 years, he's had some trouble with staying healthy. He needs a better OL so he doesn't take as many bad hits.

As long as we don't get Ken Wisenhunt or Bruce Arians, I'm happy. Wisenhunt would be a Norv jr. since he's used to losing the past 5 years...
