Billick is one smart guy who knows how to be a hc. Very savvy, football smart and communicater. Not sure about leadership although I would trust him with everything else. He interviews selectively because he knows what he wants from an organization, id bet because he has a clear vision on how to win a championship and isnt wasting his time "job hunting" for an "opportunity".
Chargertoms comments do concerns me admittedly but his insight is unclear also. All I can. say is that I trust him more than any unproven guys. First choice is still zimmer.

Let me clarify since I know how important it is for you monkey to let people and other know when they make contradictory statements...
I trust bb to be a competent hc, my preference is to take a risk on zimmer who while has not ever been an nfl hc, and thus has less confidence from me, because the upside is worthy it. we know what bb can do, zimmer may be capable of more.

His coaching tree is absolutely amazing, and he's from So Cal. But end of the day I just don't get the vibe I want from him. Seems like a car salesman posing as a head coach.

I'd take him, or John Gruden. No to Cowher, no to Holmgren.

These guys were players and there are lots more that could be named if you're naming players, they go back as far as the seventies to the 2000's like Tom Jackson to Rodney Harrison or Terry Bradshaw to Kurt Warner. HC's there aren't as many.

He's been too long in a cushy TV analysts chair, same with Jon Gruden (it may have spoiled Merriman). Has there been a HC turned TV analyst turned HC again who's had great success?
