I went through in '99 and we were in three story buildings with large open bays, very similar to the scenes from Full Metal Jacket. However there were too many privates to fit in the open bay and I ended up with three other guys in a room off the main bay. A couple of weeks in we had some guys get kicked out and two of my roommates got in trouble for trying to sneak out at night. The roommates got moved to the open bunks in the bay and I ended up sharing a four man room with another soldier. Very fortunate. |

Oh, and since I know y'all missed the crises of nmboltsfan for the past 2 weeks, GUESS WHAT.
Registered for classes a couple weeks ago, somehow managed bypass a block on the UNM system that requires you to see an academic advisor before registering, didn't think anything of it. Well last Friday I got an electronic mail from UNM saying that I was no longer registered, and would have to see an academic advisor before registering. ARE YOU KAEDING ME. So I spent all day Friday trying to get ahold of an advisor, but they were either busy or out of the office literally all day, AND THEY LEFT AT THREE O'CLOCK three days before the semester starts! So here I am on Tuesday, the second day of the semester, not registered because of the incompetency of the UNM system as a whole. How was I able to register if it's a requirement to see an advisor first? And why am I being punished for their flaw? HOPEFULLY I'll get to see an academic advisor during my lunch hour today. I know it wasn't just me, because I have heard from 3 other friends in the UNM system (ABQ and Taos) that they've been screwed over by UNM's mistakes this month. Best part is they charge for their stupid mandatory advising meetings.
