I wish it was that simple,to fix Mathews and Rivers, but the real fix is w/ both O tackles and true#1 WR .Big problems when concidering the current O tackles and WR's under contract.

McCoy doesn't like backs who can't block.

I don't remember who I was watching while ago on NFL Network (I was on my tablet, too.), but I thought the guy said that McCoy was the guy that Philip wanted. He said he'd meet with Philip in the next day or two.

I actually kinda' hope that's not the case -- or actually, that'd be fine, as long as it doesn't mean that Rivers' opinion was a key part of the decision. We saw how dysfunctional the Rivers-Norv relationship became after Rivers helped Norv retain the job.

Truth is everybody under contract has a 1 year interview. It's not uncommon for new coaches and GMs to bring in "their guys". If anybody doesn't fit their vision going forward, no matter how big the name, they will be gone.

Marty had no problem cutting Junior and Rodney when he came in to rebuild the Chargers even though they were the most popular players on the team.

Harbaugh up in San Fran drafted and then eventually replaced Smith at QB even though he led them to a 13-3 record the year before.

Everyone has to prove themselves again for the new bosses, even Rivers.

dysfunctional with Rivers and Norv? Maybe we saw two different things. But even in the beginning Norv and Rivers would get into it at times on the sidelines. Rivers loves Norv.

I know he does. But yes, we must have seen two different things. I saw many, many times where Norv would try to talk with Rivers after unsuccessful series', and Rivers would blow him off completely. Norv clearly lost any sort of control in that relationship. And even respect, at least during game time.

It's no secret that Rivers has to perform next season or he'll be out the door fast. That goes for everyone else on the team as well.

Look at the excitement on McCoy's face when he met Rivers for the first time
