From over 70 yesterday, to wind chills of 10 today with flurries......... of course big fire going need to split some more though.................

Apparently we're on Tornado watch right now...
Downfalls of being from Souther Cali. No idea what to do during a Tornado.

Edit: Only thing I can think of is to cut up some Pepsi cans, and wrap my belt around a pipe... Haha

I've been in a few tornado warnings (5-7). All in Colorado, believe it or not. 5 or 6 in Denver, 1 in Alamosa. Never did anything for any of them, didn't even go to the basement or anything. One of them actually spawned a funnel over Coors Field, about ~20 blocks from my uncle's apartment where I was at the time.

Back at Main Office today. Feels kinda weird. Good weird.

Oh I'm not going to do anything either really. It's just weird being in a situation where a Tornado is actually possible.
I'm pretty sure I'd freak out if I saw one...

Most of the time you should be ok if you are in a regular building. It is the people in mobile homes who often get screwed when tornadoes hit.

I've heard that you can take shelter in the bathroom in an empty bathtub, under a strong table, or best -- in a basement. Stay away from windows, if you can.

There's a tornado that hit a freeway out there today. Flipped a bunch of cars.

Chilly, you need to call someone on the base and find out if there is a shelter available. If not for yourself, you need to think of your family.

Being below ground level is always the best bet. There should be a bomb shelter or ten on that base somewhere.

Call the base admin, and find out if the base has special procedures in place in the event of a natural disaster like a tornado. If you're supposed to report someplace, stuff like that. They like to be able to keep track of people when stuff like that happens.

If your house has a basement, then that's the closest and safest place to be. Hang heavy blankets in front of the windows, if there are any, to prevent broken glass from flying around the basement.

You should also think about putting together an emergency preparedness kit. Three days worth of meals, a weeks worth of water, and basic necessities. A good first aid kit is a must. Just think about what you would need if you were without water and power for several days, and plan accordingly. Get some candles, make sure you have flashlights with good batteries, stuff like that.

Keep you and your family safe. Hurricanes and tornadoes are no joke. We went thru Hurricane Isabelle in Maryland, and it wasn't any fun at all. No major damage, but we were without power for three days. That part of it sucked.

My shop is actually a tornado shelter.
We don't have a basement, so the best place to shelter is thr closet under our stairs. As far as first aid kits and all that, don't have anything haha. I'll definitely get started on one of those though.

Good deal, man. As long as you and your family are aware of what to do, and where to go if something like that happens.

It's good to have an actual action plan, and review it from time to time.

Hope the tornado thing is a false alarm, Chilly.

Thanks man... The Tornado warning was more so just a precaution measure. I think like 10+ counties all went on warning. Don't think anything was really near us. But I do believe a Tornado did hit somewhere near Atlanta. The one that FA was talking about.

OMM: Daughter is being stubborn. Doesn't want to go to bed. Not sure if I should go over there and try and help out. She might get excited to see me further prolonging her going to bed...

My son still finds 100 things he forgot to talk to me about at bedtime.
