People would just get "injured" so they can pop some PED's.

The NFL is still in the " rub some dirt on it" mindset and should look past the substances that could be construed as cheater pills and try to do what they can to create medicine that might not only heal players quicker but prevent long term damage from reoccurring.
Outside of an amputation or paralysis, almost all injuries are no longer considered career ending. The medical community has come up with some really high speed stuff lately and instead of a banning list, make an approved list of any substances that help but not give an advantage.

I also saw an article about a player having had a valid prescription, but was sanctioned anyways because he didn't get pre-approval.
I can't find it -- but that would make sense. Allow exceptions for certain injuries or illnesses, under a doctor's care, if submitted to the league beforehand for the waiver. Not sure if they do it that way, but it would seem a good approach IMO.

The Super Bowl will be over and Ray Lewis retired in a few days and nothing will come of this rumor.

Just like the Lance story went away after he stopped racing.

They're not even close in comparison. There was proof that Lance cheated, but not on Lewis. Rumors are not proof.

Lance passed over 1,000 tests. What evidence was there he cheated?

Yup. It was. He didn't notify the league first, so he got in trouble for using it.
