Does this make KC a contender or pretender? Discuss...

With Alex Smith and Luke Joeckel, I can see them compete for the wild card spot and leave us in 3rd place unfortunately

Quote:
Because ReId is a solid Oline Coach and if they draft Star Lotulelei with the 1st round draft pick i would say " YES " they run a 4-3 Star + Poe = at least Have 45 Sacks and if they pick up Rodney Smith in the 2nd Y i would have to say " YES " add in an easy Schedual and its a wrap

My only thoughts are I think this will show how good Alex Smith actually is....For Better or Worse.

I think Alex Smith will suck on another team... But if I'm wrong... Contender for sure.

Not sure I'm too worried about them bringing in Alex.

If they revamp their o-line, maybe yes

Prior to this trade I thought a good fit for Smith would be Arizona, but this makes more sense. I can't see the 49r's sending a divisional opponent a starting QB and Seattle should follow suit.
That leaves the Cardinals in a pickle with who they might try to get via free agency to run their offense. I like Smith and I think this is just what KC needed to compete.

I know it's not going to happen, but it would be amazing if after Smith went to the Chiefs, the Cards found themselves scrambling for a QB and ultimately trading up for Geno Smith. Then Eric Fisher would fall to the Chargers as long as the Chiefs (who in this hypothetical, would own the #7 spot) resigned Brandon Albert and didn't need to draft an LT.

Smith shined before he was benched. I don't want to see him in KC. He is a quality QB. He definatly isn't elite but he is quality.
