Rivers has not protected the football since 2010 because he has 32 interceptions and lost eight fumbles. Rivers’ 40 turnovers since 2010 lead all NFL players in this category.

San Diego’s offensive line has allowed 22 sacks so far which is tied with the Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Jets for 21st in the NFL in terms of fewest sacks allowed.

It is easy to point the finger at San Diego’s offensive line this season for some of Rivers’ 15 turnovers.

However, Rivers had 20 interceptions and lost five fumbles last season when San Diego’s O-line allowed 30 sacks which ranked eighth in the NFL in terms of fewest sacks allowed.

The o-line personnel changes, sometimes on a weekly basis, but they do a pretty good job of protecting Brady. I attribute it to coaching and restocking. Belichick invests high draft choices on the offensive line: Mankins and Solder are 1st round picks, Vollmer was a 2nd rounder. Recently retired Matt Light was a 2nd round pick. Dante has a lot of input on who gets selected for the offensive line - he and BB have a pretty good idea of what skills are needed to be a successful offensive lineman.

Put Rivers behind the Patriots o-line, and I expect his turnover rate would go down quite a bit.

What an amazing concept....drafting OL in the first two rounds. Wow, I would have never thought of that with the GM we have

Just did a quick check - over that last 10 years, it looks like zero 1st round picks on o-line, 1 2nd round pick.

Guess your GM likes to draft the skill positions.

He likes to think he is smarter than everyone with the "gems" he drafts in the first 3 rounds

And yet some fans still defend his awful play. We won't win with Rivers forcing the ball into coverage and choking in the 4th.

I think Rivers needs to see a sports psychologists. I am being serious. He seems like a dude who may be too into the game. He is hyped up from so much adrenaline to play it seems like at times. Mentally there is something wrong with this guy which is causing him to press so much. Its painful to watch this guy fail and watch his downfall.
