Default Aaron Hernandez Commits Suicide

In a surprise turn, the Prosecution today called Patriots owner Kraft as a witness.

I think it was to refute Hernandez' alibi, or to show inconsistent statements by Hernandez.

The trial has gone on much longer than expected, already, and there's no end clearly in sight.

He's defending Hernandez, saying Hernandez told him he was innocent. I have no clue why the prosecution called him. Didn't read the whole story.

He's not trying to defend him. Just was honest when asked what Hernandez told him. His testimony did something to poke a hole in Hernandez ' s story. On his way out of the Court he didn't say anything in support of AH. Rather, he only expressed condolences for the victim's family

The prosecutor called him (and a Pats' security person) and asked about what Hernandez had told them - which was "I didn't do it, I was at a club". The prosecution has already shown he was not "at a club" at the time of the killing.

Thus they showed he lied about his whereabouts at the time... casting doubt on anything he has said.

At least that was what I got out of the news stories I read on the subject.

Kraft said he had AH to look him straight in the eye and tell him whether he had anything to do with Lloyd's murder. AH looked Kraft in the eye and told him he had NOTHING to do with it.

Yep, that's it. He lied about not being there or anything.

The defense rested today after putting on a super-short defense case.

Clearly they're hoping the jury thinks the government failed to meet its burden for a conviction.

It's in the hands of the jury now. I'm really curious how long they're going to take after such a lengthy trial.

Your Honor, our client played for the New England Patriots. As everyone knows, the line between right and wrong isn't obscured, it doesn't exist. Period.

We ask that our client be deemed unable to assist us in his own defense, due to his exposure to the culture in New England, and that all charges pending against our client be dismissed.

America needs him on the field, your Honor. Belichick has assured us that he will keep a close eye on Mr. Hernandez, and that he'll make sure he straightens up and flies right.

LOL

Except that he was dropped already good sir!

BTW, Kraft sounds drunk every time he's in front of a camera.
