Default Should we go after the other safety named Eric?

I know this is way too early AND I know we didn't pay the last Probowl safety named Eric, but wouldn't it interesting to snatch Berry from the Chiefs next year...imagine our secondary

Introducing the next Head Coach of the (Location TBD) Chargers and MAYBE he brings Wade along with him.
HC - Vance Joseph
OC - Ken Whisenhunt
DC - Wade Phillips

Not sure if we can afford him. It be an totally unexpected surprise if we signed Berry at the last second.

Maybe a similar 1 year signing we did with Flowers would be a nice addition to our secondary adding depth to the safety position.

Berry is coming off an inspirational year coming back from cancer the year before. He is too valuable to be let go. I think he eventually signs with KC.

Berry is not going to sign a one year deal. He'll be one of the highest paid safeties in the league. Flowers signed a one year deal because he was coming off a down year. Berry would have to play Very poorly to decide to sign a one year deal.

Chiefs may realize that they cannot keep both Poe and Berry. Poe will be the preference-yet he will be prohibitively expensive. Therefore, Berry gets the long term deal to stay in KC.

Yeah, no kidding. My thoughts exactly.

You never know what is going to happen in a year, with these mega-massive contracts coming out left and right, Berry is in line to make serious bank. He (nor is agent) will likely even consider the remote possibility of signing a one year deal the year after his tag salary.
