Default 2016 Season - Playoffs

Two interesting tidbits about playoff teams...

Quote:
Bad luck Lions

The Lions have lost eight straight playoff games, tied for the longest postseason losing streak in NFL history (1994-2014 Chiefs, active Bengals streak). The Seahawks have won nine straight playoff games at home, the NFL's longest active streak. The last time the Lions won a playoff game (in 1991), Lions QB Matthew Stafford was 3 years old, and 24 players on the Lions' current roster were not yet born. The last time the Lions won a playoff game on the road was 1957, when current head coach Jim Caldwell was 2 years old.

Been a while

The Raiders are looking to win their first road playoff game since 1980, when they won twice away from Oakland on their way to winning Super Bowl XV. They have lost their last 5 road playoff games, and will be facing a Texans team that is 7-1 at home this season, tied for the best record in the NFL with the Cowboys, Giants and Seahawks.

I think the Lions will move to the next round. Stafford has a hot hand in the 4th quarter leading the Lions to several come back wins this season. Seahawks are missing Earl Thomas. It be a shoot out with the Lions coming up on top in the end.

Connor Cook gets the nod for the Raiders. Carr threw a 500 + yard game and led the Raiders to at least 7 come back wins this season. Not having your MVP will be tough to come by. Texans beat the Raiders to move to the next round.

I've Texans in game 1. Tough, tough, call since both are very suspect at the QB situation.

In a situation like this, I'm simply going with the home team.

Seahawks in game 2. And I'm much more comfortable with this pick. The lions have backed into these playoffs. Built a great record in the early and week part of their schedule -- were exposed when they got into the meat of it. Shame, because I hate the Seahags, and have always sort of liked the Lions -- but I don't see them winning.
