I dont think he'll be there. somebody is going to draft him before 7. If he's there this would be a no brainer pick as a backup to rivers for a few years and then taking over. The first three teams need a QB(Cleveland, SF, Chicago). I wouldnt be surprised if another 2 QBs go before we pick!

Context.

I mentioned QBs only regarding how other teams ahead of us will draft, and which great defenders that might leave on the board for us at 7.

This threads is about defensive scheme, especially the front seven.

Are there any defenders you like who might be good fits for the 43 Over/43 Under ?

Thank you for your responses, if any.

This can be beneficial for all Charger fans.

I think there are three defensive linemen in this draft that are supposed to be monsters like joey Bosa ... Draft one of those at 7 and other teams are going to have lots of problems with us.

You have stated elsewhere "I do not believe in drafting for scheme..."

Agreed. I am now moving away from Hooker. These players are just too tempting. This draft is deep at safety.

I'll pitch in. The defensive linemen that I like at our pick at 7 would be Jonathan Allen, Derek Barnett, and Solomon Thomas. Any one of these three guys would be good. I also agree that this draft is deep at safety. It's also seems to be deep at running back, though I don't think we need one. I'd also be OK with taking a guard like Feeney in the 2nd , if he's not taken by someone else in the first round.

I have always liked the idea of building front to back. Some sort of a bookend, or front seven complementary piece for the once-in-a-generation Joey Bosa would be cool.

Im assuming Garrett is in there as well, if the unexplainable situation occurs, like it did for the Jets a few years back.

My suspicion is that he is the first defensive player off the board, and won't see 7, at all. But if he did, things could get very interesting

Garrett has got to be no. 1 on every Big Board, except CLE/SF lol.

My new clusta would prolly be Solomon. Allen. Foster.

Malik it is, oh great pundits, but man, I see round 7 safeties !
