Default REMINDER: Draft grades are only truly accurate after about 3 years.

Keeping perspective for better or for worse.

If you were around the CMB during the 2015 draft there were a LOT of people that loved Todd Gurley and were very upset we didn't pick him.

If you were here during 2016 there were virtually shouts of "off with his head!" about Melvin Gordon. This is a very interesting article that posted today on nfl.com

Gurley was long gone before our pick.
Report after the draft was that Gordon was on his way to the Texans (post arian foster) if we didn't trade up.
Only real steal was david johnson.

I think you missed my point. Drafts have to season over time. What we think about this year's draft will NOT be clear for a few years and we need to revisit past drafts similarly.

David Johnson was a 3rd round selection who is amazing today - he may continue that or fade. In 2 years Melvin could be the best back in that draft... or not.

Time and experience alone will clarify.

^ This. Some players are top-tier right from the get go, but others take a season or two or three to really blossom. For example, remember how long it took Quentin Jammer to become a solid cornerback? People were calling him a bust for a year or two until he really developed. And there are many others like him.
