Denver just seems to play at a different speed than us. People in the crowd commented on our dedication to the run game and thought Rivers should air it out more, which I would 100% agree with, except for the fact again that Rivers has no oline to give him a chance to throw the ball down the darn field. Our Defense looks good enough to take us where we want to go if we had our once dominate offense back. I think we have a lot of the personnel to still have a good offense too, but....again.....that oline.....(and yes prob the playcalling as well)
This is pretty much what I saw yesterday except for in the 4th quarter. The Oline couldn't run block or pass protect. What the heck is Rivers supposed to do? Yes he has made several boneheaded decisions when there isn't pressure but the guy has to be shell shocked at this point.

Ya know, I agree with you there. But then I think, replace Rivers with who? I thought Volek was a solid back-up but he's gone. Whitehurst? What has he done?

He hasn't thrown 14 interceptions in 10 games.

1) Complete a pass

2) If unable, dump the ball

3) If unable, take a sack.

Overriding answer: Quit turning the ball over to the other team!!

What's amazing is the line play of teams that actually knew how to build in the trenches. AJ neglected to do this as we all know and we are paying the price

Here is a good post on that. He has not in the first round.

He's not spent a 1st on an OL, but thats because up until 06 we didn't need anything on the OL. Obviously the OL wasn't a concern in 07. In 08, AJ reportedly really wanted Dwayne Brown in the 1st, but he was selected right before us. And beyond that, I actually support him that RT is NOT a position you ever want to spend a high pick on, and that was the only position that our OL was hurting.

We had Dielman, McNeil and Hardwick, who were all consistent pro-bowlers on the left side. Once we got rid of Goff (who was solid before), we drafted Vasquez and added Forney to fill the void. We've had far to many issues since the 07 draft to spend a high draft pick on a RT.

Or how about 34 interceptions in 26 games (or 40 turnovers since 2010). Ryan Leaf only threw 36 INTs in his miserable four-season career (35 games played).

As for 1st round OL guys, there's always the threat of drafting another Robert Gallery. How many 1st round OL guys became stars and how many became washouts?
