No, but something tells me he doesn't want AJ as a GM for the Chargers.

I believe the most telling stat was 5 carries for LT in the second half of that game. Clearly that was inexcusable from a play calling standpoint, but to be fair to Cameron our offense didn't get that many opportunities thanks to some turnovers and Parker muffing the punt. By the time the Pat's started shredding our Defense we almost had to put it in Rivers hands. Though we could have avoided all that by stuffing a Lo Neal/LT train down their throats for a full 60 minutes.

I'm glad Cameron's "outthink the room" Offensive Coordinator talents are no longer our problem. He's also credited with drafting Ted Ginn Jr in the first round when the Dolphins desperately needed a QB and about 5 other key positions filled.

After running for your life for three straight years would you want AJ as your GM next year. Another year of this and Rivers becomes a carson palmer holdout IMHO if we don't fix the offense.

The problem is that too many fans are fans of players more so than the team. LT was kept around at least a year longer than he should have been. The vast majority of fans wanted him to stay a Charger. Perhaps the Chargers could have traded him away for some younger talent, or would have been able to use the money that LT was getting to re-sign a younger healthier running back.

The same thing could happen with Gates. Many fans want him to retire as a Charger, when the more prudent thing would be to see what his trade value is.

I am a fan of the Chargers. I want them to win a ring, I really don't care who is on the roster as long as they win that ring. I am far more concerned with what is in the best interests of the team, not the players.
Yep as advertised I am a Rivers homer. However I never had an NFL team before San Diego, due mainly to growing up in NC before the Panthers existed. Since Rivers was drafted I've been to 5 Charger games, including SD and London. I've covered a lot of ground to see them and I can honestly say my affection for the team and its players now goes much deeper than Rivers.

Russell Wilson is another huge star from my hometown that is succeeding in the NFL. I gotta admit it's more fun watching him at the moment because they're not a train wreck, but I am a Bolts fan at heart and will always be so. If Rivers get's traded, I admit I will be following his new team as well but I will continue to follow the Bolts. They will always be my first choice and the game I wait for on Sunday afternoons.

Good post. You and I have had, and still have, strong disagreements over Rivers. As to what you describe above (that at first you were a Rivers only fan) I remember you were not alone. A bunch of NC guys came on these boards, and were only interested in Rivers' success -- the Chargers were a distant second, if factored in at all. Thus my signature.

It is very nice to read and learn that while you are still a "Rivers Homer" (literally), you have also adopted the whole team, and plan on keeping it as your team after Rivers' days here are over. I'd say "welcome aboard" but it's apparent from your description that you made this transition a while ago.

Cheers to that.

Just wish I could get to the Q about 6 times a year, I know some smoking hot ladies in La Mesa that go to every game and have offered sofa space anytime I can afford to fly out.

I have always been impressed with Bolts fans and how well we travel. My first game was Baltimore and I admit I was chicken **** to wear a jersey (rocked a Chargers T-shirt instead) having watched too many episodes of the Wire. I met at least a half dozen Bolts fans before we even got out of the parking deck. At the gate in front of the stadium there were about 20 big Samoan boys in Powder blue mad dogging all the Ravens fans who were walking in. I was very happy to show them my T-shirt but then got dissed for not having a Jersey. Served me right.

Nashville and Kansas City were well represented too, I got lucky that we blew them out that day at Arrowhead, my buddy who has season tickets (chefs supporter) says it's typically hellish on the Charger fans when KC is playing well.

I dont want to say Rivers was tanking games, but often times it seemed like he wasnt trying for whatever reason. We have seen the guy turn it on and play great, followed by unbelievably errant and poor play sometimes within the same game. Has to leave you scratching your head at times
