Or the Redskins fantasy football style management pre Shannahan era... I am sure the fans loved their offseasons more than we ever have but...

If we trade our first for Revis that would be an immediate upgrade at CB. Gilchrist and Wright will learn from him also and our scheme will be a lot better when you have a CB like Revis, Nhamdi or Deion. It allows the defense to do a lot more especially our D-line and Lbers.

Rivers/Gates are getting old and drafting a CB this year or next will take time for them to develop which is something that isnt on our side for our QB. Upgrading with Revis means we can concentrate on O-line in the draft and all we need on defense in the draft would be a pass rusher at OLB or a NT like Lotuleilei(SP?).

Depending how the trade works out.. like 2014 2nd and conditional 3rd that can be a first if we sign Revis means we can use a first on a gaurd, tackle or pass rusher. If we just keep drafting we will eventually have other leaks to plug and IMO we need to make an upgrade in FA or trade for a high impact player like Revis so we dont have as many holes to fill thru drafting.

I am not sold on our current CB's Wright/Gilchrist. Otherwise they would of started ahead of Cason/Jammer. With Revis covering one side and Weddle roaming the other will make our defense really good. Even if it is just a rental our DB's can learn a thing or two from him. His ACL is an injury a lot of players come back from now and he uses technique more than his speed.

Picking Revis up means we will be set on defense and can concentrate more on other needs. DB's have a huge learning curve and drafting a CB in the first isnt always going to work versus getting a for sure/proven player like Revis. Deion helped 49ers/cowboys both get to the SB because of him both teams were free to do a lot more things.

If we do draft a top tier player who develops into something similar to Revis like we will still need to pay top dollar down the line. He is the type of player that can make our defense scary and top 5. CB is a huge need now that Jammer is getting old and when you can get a guy like Deion or Revis who is the top player you need to atleast try to get him. He will have a bigger impact than any other player we draft who is unproven.

Remember the season when we had something like eleven players on the Pro Bowl team. All those All Stars and no Lombardi trophy.
