Default Sean Lee May Be Out For Season

Wow -- the OTA injury bug hit early again.

Cowboys Sean Lee blew a knee, and ESPN is reporting that it's a torn ACL.

That's a huge loss for Dallas, if it's correct.

p.s. This is a jinx-free zone, so I won't say anything else based on our own off-season injury woes last year.

that sucks. I hate seeing good (or bad) players fall to injury.

its insane how many knees have been taken out in the past 12 months.

Here's a little more:

The Cowboys ran a screen play and first-round offensive guard Zach Martin pulled out and appeared to pancake Lee on the play — reminder: this is a "non contact" practice. (You can watch the play on this video. Skip forward to about the 3:45 mark, even though the contact occurs off camera.)

If you look at the video, you actually can see the end of the contact. Lee was indeed pancaked by Martin. Oops, rook!

That stinks Lee is a good linebacker. A few of my best friends are cowboys fans, the team is already in cap hell. I hope it isn't as severe as it seems.

It's a bummer for Lee.
Dudes a young and talented LB.

Wasn't he injured or missed a few games last year and now this injury?

Best wishes to Lee.

Tough break for him, and the Cowboys. That hit didn't look to horrible... but evidently the results say otherwise. With that said anything beyond incidental contact shouldn't be happening this time of year.

Injuries are a part of football... this is why you bring 90 men to camp. It sucks whenever anyone goes down... but in a game this violent it will happen.

Wish him well in his recovery and his career except when his playing well will hurt the Chargers.

Man I hate to do it, but this would be a good time to send out feelers to the Cowboys and trade them a LBer. We can't carry all the ones we have. With Te'o, Butler, Conner, Walker, and way too many pass rushers worthy of a roster spot, Gachkar would be a good fit. He's been a special team stud, but we have Stuckey and Tutu already as STers, we'd be better off keep an extra pass rusher, and get a draft pick out of them to replace the one we are losing for Lissemore. I actually think Gachkar deserves to be a starter, and he'll never get that chance here.

I am no expert on the Cowboys roster but I am not sure I see anyone here the Cowboys would want to send us a pick for other than Butler or Te'o... and we aren't trading our starters.

If the Cowboys would be willing to over pay for Gachkar or another depth guy I wouldn't mind the deal... but I don't see anything happening till roster cuts... and then it might be a 7th rounder comes our way for a guy we would cut anyway. Happened in reverse with Patrick Crayton a few years back... trade a low pick to avoid the bidding war/waiver wire risks.

I don't think the Cowboys are going to be to interested in anyone we might be willing to trade.
