True. Although I think it's fairer to say that we would have won a Super Bowl in '06 if Parker and McGree had been able to hold onto the ball.

The league was weak overall in '06. Probably the worst SB matchup ever.

If I were gonna make excuses, I would probably focus on either '05 or '07 instead.

That's what makes '06 so heartbreaking. If we would have advanced to the Super Bowl, we would have played a weal Bears team and destroyed them. That was our year to win a ring and we didn't do it.

Chargers would have won a SuperBowl with Rivers if we would have built on the success of 06-07.

It's frustrating that virtually all the "franchise" QB's of this Era have won 1 or more superbowls. Brady, both Mannings, Brees, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Wilson. Not even 1 trip to the big game for Rivers. Very sad.

“If Drew had been our quarterback [in 2006], we would have won the Super Bowl. There were a lot of circumstances that were in play — obviously, Drew’s injury right at the end of the (2005) season and the front office wasn’t willing to make the (financial) commitment to keep him.

“Philip hadn’t played enough to get it done at that time.”

LT might have a point, as it is true that Rivers was a rookie starter at that time. Still, with all the turnovers we had that day, no guarantee that Brees gets it done either.

not enough then, not enough now either.
