Excellent point, B4L, and one I hope the Chargers FO has considered, as they jockey with the NFL over their schedule.

Disheartening to see people think we wouldn't stand a chance against the Pats. I guess everybody already forgot that our banged up team went into Atlanta and beat the eventual NFC champion Falcons. The same Falcons that were destroying the Patriots in the Superbowl until some horrible coaching decisions and crazy luck allowed New England back in the game.

Would we win? Maybe, maybe not. But the Chargers rarely ever get blown out & they will be at least somewhat healthy going into week 1. My money would be on a hard fought game that isn't decided until the final minutes.

I feel the same. Anything less than 10-6 this season if we're healthy and I'll be ceryyyyy disappointed.

Would be a very tough game if it were to happen.

1- It's New England. They are good every year.

2- New England has added some good pieces in free agency this year. Seems like they are really pushing for that 6th title.

3- New England is ridiculous at home under Tom Brady. I think they've lost only like 16 games at home when Brady is playing.

4- Seems like the super bowl winning teams always do well on that opening Thursday night game. Not sure when they started doing it but the only team I can remember not winning in recent years is the Ravens against the Broncos in 2013.

I love the Chargers , and we can be great if healthy but... the Patriots are a machine. I hope we win but i just don`t see it unless we put up at least 28 points and get in Brady`s face.

No it's based on the great Metallica song off Master of Puppets, which I'm sure the cover band is named after as well.

Haha I thought that was a strange question. Little known fact- my name is a Sevendust song that was playing when I made this account many moons ago. Yours is better.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Rivers and company have proven they can't get it done against the pats when Brady is the QB. I think the only time they succeeded with Rivers at the helm against the Pats was when M. Cassell was subbing for the injured Brady (2008 or so I think).
