/\ I watched that video and understand what compelled AJ to select English.

In retrospect, it's almost as if he went "as safe as possible" with english. He's a hard worker, relentless motor, and plays hard.

I REALLY hope that he's a late bloomer and that AJ's vision is true. AJ invested heavily in solving the OLB issue and came up short. It would be nice if both English and Ingram played to the level of their draft selection.

IMHO, the story with English is that he's shown glimpses that he could be the player we envisioned, but due to injuries we don't know his true capacity.

Maybe a late bloomer because of his injury history. If he's still under contract it's alot cheaper to keep him given his potential abilty to contribute on a higher level. Make or break year for him IMHO. He needs to prove that he can adapt to NFL play level or retire.

I think English gets way too much hate and honestly, deserves some more slack, this foot injury has taken a lot away. I understand he has underperformed, but honestly, if he's healthy, he can be solid. He's a strong guy and can really drive OTs. He's beaten Jake Long, D'Brick, and others. He may never be a star, but if he's healthy, he can surprise.

I don't care if he's an all star z. I just want him to be an effective player in the defense. He has never been that, even when healthy.
