Brees wasn't that good at the time, he was replaced by Flutie because of a disappointing start to the 2003 season. That caused AJ to draft his own QB, don't forget John Butler is the GM that seen his potential in Brees, not AJ.

But, Fitz and VJ would of been a nice one two pinch in the air, add to that Gates. With LT, Turner and Sprouls on the ground. If we would of kept Turner and traded LT that would of been nice, but, the fans would of had a riot. Thing is I don't remember if the Cards were in the market at the time for a QB or if they were even interested in the number one overall pick. Cause it would of been nice to traded with them so we could of still got Merriman.

But those days are behind us now, lets look to the future. I'd like to see one or two top five-ten picks, in the next two to three years. To get the two bpa, I hope they would be defensive players, if not at least one for each side if the ball.

Play-offs in one to three years and I'll be happy.

Really ? You would be happy waiting three more years. Three in the hole now, another three full years of waiting, for total of six years with no playoffs ?

I can tell you I wouldn't be happy with that. I honestly don't believe that you would be either.

I concur. We could have been a playoff team going into this season. We were the victim of some bad losses. Better preparedness and a more well coached team will help us. And better oline
