Never happy with mediocrity. This season has been a huge dissappointment. On all aspects. But to give up on my favorite team. Never.

Defending Norv IS giving up on this team because it means a resignation to mediocrity. I keep hoping he will turn things around, but it seems to only get worse. I saw a confused, disorganized team today, and the delay of game on 4th and 9 was the last straw. I was hoping to come onto this forum after the game and find that Norv had been fired. I would be happy with Pagano finishing out the season as HC since at least the defense showed up today.

I feel the same way about Rivers. And IMO the second delay of game was squarely on him, not Norv.

Don't be mistaken, though, I feel the same way about Norv, too.

Yes, AJ and Norv have lowered my expectations. If the Chargers finished 8-8 I would be stunned.

Disappointing. Hard to know what the next five years will bring. A team in gradual decline? A bit of back-and-forth of good season's and bad, resulting in not very much? Are we in for a dry spell like the mid to late nineties?

But i'd say its safe to say that the 2012 Chargers are a pretty poor team on the offensive side of the ball. One can't help but look back on the losses of Jackson and Sproles and scratch you head. And of course, an o-line unfortified by high picks.

Oh well. Life as a charger fan.

• Through nine games, the Chargers had the easiest schedule in the NFL, according to pro-football-reference.com. Their defense has enjoyed extraordinary health. Injuries have dinged the offense (one of the higher-paid offenses in the NFL), but relative to other offenses, the injuries have been far from extreme. The Chargers knew they were rolling the dice with Jared Gaither, who missed the 2010 season because of a back injury. It’s a shame that a clumsy Cowboys third-stringer broke Vincent Brown’s ankle in the preseason, falling on Brown's ankle three strides after he'd caught the ball in the end zone. But other offenses have dealt with several injuries to starters. As Spanos evaluates the season, bad luck shouldn’t be thought the culprit. Look at what the Raven, Packers and Steeler have done despite rampant injuries. The Broncos, for their part, played the NFL’s toughest schedule through six weeks, based on opponents’ winning percentage.
I was a bit more bummed after reading this factoid.

GREAT JOB MR. SPANOS! I fully support the hires of Tom Telesco, Mike McCoy and Ken Whisenhunt. You can count on this fan being in the stadium.
