Seems a little more explosive than athletic to me (i.e. great first step, but not so flexible around the edge). I think he'll be the next guy I spend some time watching. But I agree that opposing lines had no one else to focus on.

And his instincts are TERRIBLE, has no idea what he's doing it looks like most of the time. Goes strait upfield, if someone blocks him, he'll hit him but cant read blocks or whatever.

Pretty much sums up my initial opinion (back in December) of Damontre Moore:

Evan Silva ‏@evansilva
#aTm DE Damontre Moore's poor Combine "validated whispers" among NFL scouts who weren't thrilled with him all along: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8424/damontre-moore

I've said this all along, there's absolutely nothing special about his ability other than his production...

At the end of the day shouldn't we judge players on production more than anything? Especially those who played against top flight completion.

I recall when Suggs came out he had similar questions. Not saying Moore will be Suggs 2.0, but there are some parallels.

Maybe you just worded your concerns poorly (at least imo).

To me the bench press is what stands out to me. 12 reps is kind of pathetic.

The problem with production is that some guys are great college players but will not be the same at the next level. That's one reason why the combine is important. If he doesn't measure up, it's sometimes a bad sign.

This guy was supposed to be a top 10 guy before the combine. Now he's lucky if he goes in the first round. L. Johnson was considered a mid to late first rounder, now he's going top 10 in many mocks. Teo was supposed to be a sure lock 1st rounder, that may no longer happen and he has to have a good pro day. Cromartie had next to nothing in college production but was drafted in the 1st round. (OK his an idiot. But you get the point).

The guy that said the combine doesn't matter is dead wrong. It's not everything but matter it does, says Yoda.

To fans maybe. Kirwin and others pegged Teo as 2nd rounder before any of the off field stuff and Lane's hype began at the Senior Bowl.

Since Demontre Moore's stock fell, if he falls to us in the 2nd- would you take him? Or would you rather take a guy like Lemonier? I was hoping Tank Carradine would drop to us but he's starting to gain some buzz.

Nope, I'd rather take a guy like Barret Jones and shore up the O line or one of the many CBs that will be available in the 2nd who come with good value. Moore will not help us. J. Jones if he didn't have the stenosis would be the best pure pass rusher this year. It's not a particularily good year at the top for pass rushing 3/4 OLBs.
