Hey. I'm a business owner and I'm cutthroat, so tanking one season to get the once in a lifetime franchise QB prospect.
Yep! I'm doing it.
How about you let the kid play more than one season before jumping all over him as a in a lifetime prospect?

GM: Do you care more about winning football games? Or winning the salary cap super bowl each year?

HC: do you think the O-line is important?

Why would that question even apply to the Chargers?

Or do you want us to bring in a GM who drags us into cap hell?

Jimmy Johnson said that is THE job of a HC.

I would rather win games with a salary cap a little messy than go 7-9 with a pristine cap. Too many here place a pristine cap above winning. I don't want another GM who places a perfect cap above winning.

Define "pristine?" Do you mean "not laced with lots of dead space?" Because I would think that makes so much sense that no one could be opposed to it.

The Chargers can be criticized for a few things, but their handling of the cap really isn't one of them. You can argue about who they've given money to, but certainly not how they've chosen to manage it.

Right, we don't re sign our home grown pro bowlers just to keep our cap pristine.

But hey we get the salary cap super bowl trophy every year right?

So you'd rather have a GM that puts us in cap hell, which also means you're unable to sign other talent to your roster.

How about somewhere in the middle? Sign the talent that makes the most sense, while keeping us under the cap. Some reserve space is always nice, especially for signing mid-season replacement due to injuries.

Kinda hard to do that if you're at the limit or over it. As it is, we spend almost every dime available. There are always going to be fans like us who want the Chargers to sign this guy or that guy, but that doesn't mean it makes the most sense from a team or business standpoint.

The Chargers were among the top 5 highest spending teams last year. They've consistently been in the top 10 in salaries despite being in the bottom-10 in revenues.

Please stop spreading slander. You can argue they gave the money to the wrong guys, but stop with the "Spanos is cheap" BS. They aren't cheap. Just admit it. I swear it's like getting a 2 year old in a high-chair to eat something he doesn't like. I can spread the truth all over your pouty, stubborn mouth, but I can't make you swallow it.

Question....'What do you do to fix the Bolts' weaknesses?'.

This is asked because it gives an insight to several things. First, what does the perspective GM think the weak areas are. Second, just what style or approach will perspective GM take, draft, FA, trade....etc. Is this guy in it for the long term, or a quick fix artist.
