as a former overweight person, I had back issues that caused pains in all areas of my body, from my legs to my neck. lost some of the weight, still working on it, but the pain has gone away. not saying it was a contributing factor, but just saying they are not apples to apples.

Congratulations (sincerely). But your general discomfort from being overweight does not correlate to the spinal stenosis condition. That is not apples to apples either.
