Default Rivers -- patriot (not in the New England sense)

CBS, which I ordinarily think of as "Can't Broadcast Sports", had a little snippet during last night's game, in which Rivers was caught on tape -- doing something good. During the singing of "God Bless America", he was caught on tape, singing along. A couple of Chargers players in the background were standing with their hands over their hearts.

The commentator explicitly contrasted this with Kapernick's previous actions during the playing of the National Anthem. Rivers may not lead us to a Super Bowl win, but his heart is in the right place. A country that gives the people the right to choose what they do, in terms of a profession, and to do it to the best of their ability, is a country to be praised. Rivers understands this.

I hate that the NFL has decided to not disapprove of Kap's disrespect to America, but now they developed commercials boasting about it. I wouldn't be surprised if the ratings for the 49'r game were the lowest in NFL history.
Now that the Chargers have played and won, I'm not watching ANY NFL games this weekend. I will watch college football and MLB playoffs and I have the NFL Sunday ticket, but it was free, I wouldn't pat for it.
