Default Doctors Worried Bridgewater Might Be Finished

The knee injury Teddy Bridgewater suffered during training camp is reportedly so serious that some doctors fear he may never play football again.

Appearing on ESPN’s “NFL Countdown” Sunday morning, Adam Schefter revealed that there are doctors around the NFL who are concerned about whether Bridgewater can ever make it back.

“Teddy Bridgewater continues to rehab in Minnesota and he is making progress. Nearly two months after he dislocated his knee, Bridgewater is making strides and Vikings officials are pleased with where he’s at,” Schefter said, per Will Brinson of CBSSports.com.

“But other doctors around the league know there are no guarantees Bridgewater will be able to return to the type of quarterback he was, if he makes it back to the NFL at all.

“As one doctor who’s worked with NFL teams said this week, ‘If he didn’t make it back, it wouldn’t surprise me. This is a bad injury, about the worse knee injury a player can have.'”

We have already heard rumblings that Bridgewater might not be ready for the start of the 2017 season, which isn’t really a surprise. Torn ACLs have become common in the NFL, but Bridgewater’s knee injury was so bad some of his teammates began throwing up on the field during practice.

We can only hope the fears from the doctors Schefter spoke with end up being unwarranted.

Setting up an "against all odds comeback storyline" for the NFL, or could he really be finished?

Hoping for a good recovery. If he can make it back, then great. If not, he has a good life for him and his family.
